Apotex Inc. proudly presented Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s 19th Annual Golf tournament on June 3 at Copper Creek Golf Club.The spirits were definitely high for this tournament as all those in attendance were able to mix and mingle with Honoured Members and celebrity guests including Marlene Streit, Paul Beeston, Ron Ellis,Tony Gabriel, Dennis Hull, Gary Cowan, Paul Henderson, Sandy Hawley, Rod Seling, Brian Glennie and Marnie McBean.
The Hall paid special tribute to Sandra Post in honour ofher 40th year since winning her first LPGA title. Sandra was greeted with an extra special surprise as three of her friends from the LPGA tour, Susie McAllister, Renee Powell and Judy Rankin, joined her for a day of golf and memories. After dinner and cocktails Lorne Rubenstein spoke about Sandra’s legendary career, including being the first rookie to win the LPGA title, as well as the youngest person to win a modern major – a record which she laid claim to for 39 years.
